Yang Smacks 5 Hits for Hooks
|
After a 5-hit effort to lead Corpus Christi's 1-0 victory over the Sioux City Indians, center fielder Chung Yang told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the BSBL Triple A-level is really something special."
The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Ballpark of Tulsa with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Indians.
"His swing is getting there," said Hooks skipper , who spoke glowingly of Yang after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Chung did that to perfection."
Chung Yang singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Yang is batting .447 with 1 home run.
