Waco Goes Hitless Against Martínez
It was a fantastic day for Austin Chords starter David Martínez and a lousy day for the Waco Branch Davidians.

The Austin hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Branch Davidians, as the Chords cruised to a 2-0 win. When it was all over, Martínez was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.

"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Martínez said later.

He rang up 7 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks while shutting Waco down at Waco Grounds.

This year Martínez has compiled a 5-3 mark with a 1.41 ERA in 9 starts.
