The Wichita Aviators did little to support starter Miguel Martínez against the Sioux City Indians, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Indians, striking out 11 and surrendering 5 hits. The performance from Martínez allowed Wichita to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Miguel, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Martínez told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
