Tracy Guns Downs 15 Indians
|
Everything was working for Phillip Tracy today at Provo Grounds. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The changeup was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 26-year-old Tracy fanned 15 Indians and sparked the Provo Gulls to a 4-0 victory over Sioux City. He left Indians hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Provo manager . "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 8 innings, Tracy allowed 1 hit and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Tracy said with a smile.
Tracy has posted a 17-4 record for the year with a 2.31 ERA. Teams are hitting .204 against him and he has rung up 194 strikeouts in 171.2 innings.
