McKenzie Hurls Riverside to Shutout Win
In an outstanding mound performance, Riverside Firebolts starter Gil McKenzie fired a complete-game shutout against the Edmonton Eskimo at Eskimo Ballpark today.

McKenzie was the key to the Firebolts's 4-0 win. The 25-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 5 hits and 3 walks he allowed.

"5 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."

To date, McKenzie has collected 3 saves in 18 relief appearances. He has rung up 101 strikeouts and 35 walks in 82 innings while registering a 2.20 ERA and a 4-5 won-lost record.
