Wilcox Magic in 1-0 Shutout
|
Leonard Wilcox kept the Medicine Hat Pills hitters off balance all game long, as the Edwards AFB Jets pitcher blanked the Pills, 1-0.
Wilcox gave up 5 hits, struck out 11, and walked 1. In the postgame press conference, the right-hander was reluctant to talk about the outing at length.
"It was a nice win in a long season," he said. "I don't want to dwell too much on it."
To date, Wilcox has a 6-4 mark in 12 starts with a 3.08 ERA. He has given up 72 hits in 96.1 innings, struck out 108 and issued 23 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .211 batting average against him.
