García Hurls No-Hitter Against Fireballs
|
SLC-R is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Guillermo García.
The 20-year-old hurler was dominating against the PHX-R Fireballs, leading the Locusts to a 1-0 win at Predators Grounds today.
"I could tell early on that it was going to be a long day for us," PHX-R manager said afterward. "He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."
García had 8 strikeouts and gave up 4 walks en route to the no-hitter.
"Yeah, this was a special day for me," García said. "I had my good stuff and good movement. Good location, too. Even when I made a mistake, I got away with it today."
Over the season García has thrown 97.1 innings and dished out 106 strikeouts with a 6-4 mark and a 2.68 ERA.
