The New Orleans Pelicans powered past the hometown Las Vegas Strip, 3-2, in the opener of the League Championship Series at Banditos Ballpark today. New Orleans starting pitcher Rafael Infante threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Pelicans now lead the series 1-0.

Infante threw well for New Orleans, thwarting the Las Vegas offense. The right-hander tossed 112 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits.

Infante attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Banditos Ballpark in Las Vegas.
