Las Vegas Takes 2-1 Lead in League Championship Series
Riding the 4-hit performance of right fielder Mark Sweeney, the Las Vegas Strip got a road win against the New Orleans Pelicans, 8-3, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. Sweeney went 4-4 with 3 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Strip, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

The Strip took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Facing New Orleans hurler Pedro Hardy with no outs, Sweeney hit a run-scoring double.

"This was a good win for us," said Sweeney. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Higgins Park in New Orleans.
