Pelicans Advance to League Championship Series
Israel González was a standout performer in the Wild Card Series, but unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the rest of the Homer Yetis.

The New Orleans Pelicans beat González's Yetis 2-1 at Higgins Park tonight, to capture the series 4-1.

Despite the series loss, González was named MVP.

"It's cold comfort," he said solemnly when asked about the award. "I'd certainly rather be in New Orleans's position than mine."

The New Orleans Pelicans don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Denver Grizzlies - Las Vegas Strip series. Las Vegas leads the series 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
