Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Fireballs, 3-1
|
Phoenix Fireballs right fielder Diego Hernández was the difference-maker at Pyro Center today, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Wild Card Series. The Fireballs took the 3-1 win over the New Orleans Pelicans to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Juan Guzmán hit a run-scoring triple off Pedro Hardy in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Fireballs in front, 1-0. Guzmán had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.
"We don't have much margin for error now," Pelicans manager said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."
Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Higgins Park in New Orleans.
