Alemán Twirls Gulls to Shutout Win Thursday, August 27th , 2015 Provo hurler Matt Alemán put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Amarillo Cowboys with a 2-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 4 hits with 16 strikeouts and 1 walk to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Amarillo manager told reporters after the game. Thus far this season, Alemán has posted a 10-17 record, started 27 games, struck out 286 batters in 226 innings and compiled a 3.27 ERA. View Boxscore |
