Injury Worsens, Return Delayed for Hooks Veronese
Thursday, October 1st , 2015
Yesterday Corpus Christi left fielder Tristan Veronese sustained a setback in his recovery from a fractured thumb. The Hooks medical staff told him it would be at least 2 weeks before he will be able to return to action. Veronese told reporters, "The healing process has gone extremely well. This is just a little hiccup and a little setback." Apparently Veronese worked a little too hard in a recent workout and caused more damage. His doctors have advised him to do only light exercise and give the injury time to heal.
This season in 137 games, Veronese has hit at a .254 clip with 114 hits, 28 home runs, 66 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
