League Suspends Galló and Curran for Fisticuffs Monday, August 12th , 2013 If there wasn't a history between Gabriel Galló of Brownsville and Ed Curran of St. Paul, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Galló said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." So far this year Galló is batting .232 with 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 34 runs scored. This season Curran has a 2-3 mark in 8 starts with a 2.89 ERA. He has given up 47 hits in 56 innings, struck out 81 and issued 13 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .228 batting average against him. |
