Phillips Smacks 3 Out of the Park Friday, June 17th , 2016 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Hermits-Cowboys game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Jackson catcher Greg Phillips thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Jackson to a win, 11-4, over Amarillo. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Phillips said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Phillips was 3-for-4 on the day with 6 runs batted in. Greg Phillips flied out in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. For the year, Phillips is batting .455 with 3 home runs. |
