Hermits Blanked by Orosco, 2-0 Sunday, July 10th , 2016 There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching. Ángel Orosco of the Waco Branch Davidians blanked the Jackson Hermits, 2-0, at Waco Grounds, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 5-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles. "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Orosco said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance." Orosco walked 3 and struck out 10 in the victory. "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Hermits manager said later. On his stats sheet this season, Orosco shows a 6-6 record, 18 starts, 131 innings, 154 strikeouts and a 3.16 ERA. View Boxscore |
