Jets Move on to Round 2 Saturday, September 12th , 2015 Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Pacific A Round 1. It turned out quite a bit different. The Edwards AFB Jets swept aside the Casa Grande Cotton Kings to advance to the Round 2, winning the final game by a 4-2 score at Cotton Kings Ballpark. The series MVP was shortstop Don Montgomery, who hit .167 with a .286 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Edwards AFB Jets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Eureka Redwoods - Berkeley Beacon series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. View Boxscore |
