Redwoods Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Tuesday, September 15th , 2015 In an exciting Round 1 that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is BSBL Single A fans who have come out the winner. But on the field, the winners were the Eureka Redwoods, who edged the Berkeley Beacon 3-2 to advance to the Round 2. Eureka won the final game by a 6-1 count to wrap up the series. Mark Noriega earned series MVP honors, by hitting .350 with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Eureka Redwoods will play against the Edwards AFB Jets in the next round. Edwards AFB won their series against the Casa Grande Cotton Kings 3 games to 0.
