Aguirre Strokes 5 Hits Thursday, April 28th , 2016 The Lincoln Logs stopped the Grand Island Coppers by a score of 5-4 at Lincoln Grounds, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Armando Aguirre. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Aguirre said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Aguirre did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Coppers. "Not much that I can say," offered Grand Island manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Armando Aguirre doubled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
