Ruíz Crafts 2-0 Shutout Versus Ciuded Juarez Saturday, May 7th , 2016 In an outstanding mound performance, Grand Island Coppers starter Manuel Ruíz fired a complete-game shutout against the Ciuded Juarez Aguilas Rojas at Ballpark of Santa Ana. Ruíz was the key to the 2-0 Grand Island win. The 23-year-old left-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 4 hits and no walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout." On the season, Ruíz has a 1-5 record with a 2.66 ERA. View Boxscore |
