Flindseyes Lead with Chin, Get KO'd, 11-0
Wednesday, May 11th , 2016
It wasn't easy but the Berkeley Beacon made it look that way.
Starter Scotty Rhodes shut out the Hemet Flindseyes despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Berkeley Beacon cruised to victory, 11-0. Rhodes allowed only 8 hits and rang up 10 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
In 8 starts this year, Rhodes has crafted a 5-0 record and a 1.60 ERA.
