Week's Best Player Honored by PA Monday, May 16th , 2016 Juan Ortíz is respected by most Grand Junction Green Mesas fans for his no-frills style of play. The 23-year-old shortstop went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Pioneer A Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .500 average (6-for-12) with 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. So far this season, Ortíz is hitting .258 with 5 home runs, 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 89 at-bats and a .380 OBP. |
