Thompson Whacks 3 Out of the Park for Casa Grande Friday, May 20th , 2016 It was a good day for the Casa Grande Cotton Kings and an exceptional one for Brad Thompson. The 24-year-old third baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Cotton Kings beat the Walla Walla Wanderers, 10-2, at Cotton Kings Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Thompson said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Brad Thompson hit a two-run home run off Patrick Lundgren in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Patrick Lundgren in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th. This season, Thompson has banged out 16 hits in 64 at-bats for a .250 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .333 pace and his totals also include 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored. |
