Grand Junction Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Wednesday, September 17th , 2014 The Grand Junction Green Mesas are heading to the Round 2, having narrowly defeated the Brainerd Muskies. Grand Junction edged Brainerd in the series 3-2, with a win at Green Mesas Stadium in the clinching game by a 6-3 margin. David Christensen turned in a strong offensive performance for the Green Mesas and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Round 3 win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Christensen continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .333 with a .368 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Grand Junction Green Mesas will play against the El Dorado Oilers in the next round.
