Folsom Advances to Round 3 Wednesday, September 24th , 2014 The Round 2 didn't live up to the billing from those who thought it would be an all-out battle to the last game. But the Folsom Blues are no doubt pleased by the results, as they have knocked out the Eureka Redwoods 3-1 to advance to the Round 3. "It doesn't matter how you win it, as long as you win it and get yourself moving forward," said Blues center fielder Ron Sánchez. "I know a lot of people thought this was going to be a really tight series the whole way through, but we're glad it didn't go right down to the wire." Folsom won the final game by a score of 5-2 at Ballpark of Eureka. Sánchez was named series MVP after hitting .538 with a .647 on-base percentage. He also had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Folsom Blues will play against the El Dorado Oilers in the next round. El Dorado won their series against the Grand Junction Green Mesas 3 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. View Boxscore |
