High-pressure game situations don't seem to affect Joe Evans, the bullpen ace of the Brainerd Muskies. This season he was regularly put to the test and regularly made quick work of the opposition. In recognition of his dominance, the Pioneer A today presented the 2014 Outstanding Pitcher Award to him.

Evans appeared in 44 games and converted 5 saves in 6 save opportunities. The Muskies star had a 17-5 mark with a 1.37 ERA. He also chalked up 242 strikeouts and walked 29 in 177.1 innings of work.

He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 24. Albert Patton of the El Dorado Oilers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Dave Williams of the Butler Penguins finished third.
