Edwards AFB Blanks Walla Walla Behind Cunningham Monday, June 13th , 2016 The Walla Walla Wanderers were almost helpless in their 1-0 loss to the Edwards AFB Jets and hurler Mike Cunningham. Cunningham kept the Wanderers confused all game, spinning a 2-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Cunningham," Walla Walla manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 23-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 12 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Cunningham said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This year, Cunningham has worked 87 innings with 96 strikeouts en route to a 4-4 record and 2.48 ERA. View Boxscore |
