Ruckus Reaps 8-Game Suspensions Monday, August 19th , 2013 Hot tempers flared and a few punches were thrown at the Medicine Hat and Berkeley game yesterday and ended up with two players ejected. Jimmy Mays of the Pills and Larry Strong of the Beacon have now been reprimanded and issued 8-game suspensions by the league commissioner for their parts in the fracas. Mays has a .252 average and a .333 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 85 hits, 4 home runs and driven in 32 runs. This year Strong has a 5-7 mark in 25 starts with a 4.14 ERA. He has given up 105 hits in 128.1 innings, struck out 113 and issued 43 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .222 batting average against him. |
