Miura Hurls No-Hitter
Tuesday, June 21st , 2016
The Springfield Indians relied on no-hit stuff from starter Tadasuke Miura to defeat the Ciuded Juarez Aguilas Rojas, 6-0, at Field of the Aguilas Rojas.
"It's quite a thrill," Miura told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the Pioneer A records, he stopped Ciuded Juarez cold and hitless, surrendering 5 walks and fanning 13 of the 32 batters he faced.
Springfield manager was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Miura "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
For the year, Miura is batting .239 with 2 home runs.
