Hits Blitz for Aztecs Wentzell
Tuesday, September 1st , 2015
Brayden Wentzell accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball when he hit for the cycle against the DAL-R Eagles in the 11-8 MXC-R Aztecs win at Norwich Stadium.
Afterward, Wentzell acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Aztecs win.
"Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Wentzell said.
On his historic day, he went 4-for-6 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books.
Brayden Wentzell tripled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Paul Hill in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and walked in a run in the 12th.
In his season totals Wentzell has 4 home runs and a .307 batting average.
