Breakers Captures Wild Card Sunday, September 13th , 2015 The SD-R Breakers clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a BSBL R2 wild card position. The team, whose record stands at 67-53, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games. "I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said catcher Orinosuke Okumura. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us." Now the Breakers don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 1st BSBL Rookie League championship in franchise history. |
