PA Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award
Saturday, September 6th , 2014
Joe Jones was a calming influence out of the El Dorado Oilers bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 24-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Pioneer A Reliever of the Year Award for 2006.

The Los Angeles, California native won the award with 15 saves in 77 relief appearances, 261 strikeouts in 148.1 innings and a record of 13-4 to go with his 1.27 ERA.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Geoff Walker of the Delacroix Tangled Blues finished second in voting, while Will Downey of the Grand Junction Green Mesas finished third.
