Weaver Pitches LB-R to Shutout Victory Thursday, September 18th , 2014 There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching. Jesse Weaver of the LB-R Ports blanked the POR-R Beavers, 5-0, at Heat Stadium today, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 3-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles. "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Weaver said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance." Weaver walked 0 and struck out 10 in the victory. "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Beavers manager said later. This year Weaver has worked 113 innings with 118 strikeouts en route to a 11-2 record and 1.67 ERA. View Boxscore |
