5 Hits for Millers Quintana Thursday, June 23rd , 2016 After his 5-hit effort at Comets Field was tarnished by MIN-R's 6-5 loss to the SF-R Seals, second baseman Luis Quintana told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 20-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Seals. "His swing is getting there," said Millers skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Luis did that to perfection and we wasted it." Luis Quintana tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th. So far this season, Quintana has hit .354 with 6 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 32 times. View Boxscore |
