Bob Booth led the Tucson Nets to a shutout victory, 5-0, over the Santa Cruz Sailors at Cannibals Ballpark.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Booth recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Booth yielded 5 hits and had 12 strikeouts and 2 walks in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Santa Cruz manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

On the year, Booth has worked 62 innings with 65 strikeouts en route to a 6-0 record and 0.73 ERA.
