García Tosses No-Hitter Against Edwards AFB
|
In a dominant outing, Luis García of the Pearl City Divers totally silenced the bats of the Edwards AFB Jets, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 1-0 victory, García faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Pearl City manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Divers had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, García pitched a heck of a ballgame."
So far this season, García has a 7-7 record, 18 starts, 127.1 innings, 122 strikeouts and a 2.40 ERA.
