Eskimo Captures Wild Card Monday, August 18th , 2014 The Edmonton Eskimo clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a Pacific AAA wild card position. The team, whose record stands at 82-61, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games. "I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said third baseman Ben Young. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us." Now the Eskimo don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 5th BSBL Triple A championship in franchise history. |
