Mueller Belts 5 Hits Wednesday, April 29th , 2015 Players get multi-hit games all the time, but 5-hit games are something else entirely. It happened today when Dave Mueller of Kailua Surf scattered 5 hits all over Comets Stadium against the Vernon Comets. The right fielder was subdued in the postgame interview, however, saying Kailua's 7-6 loss robbed his big day of its luster. "It was a good day for me, but not a good day for us," he said. "The bottom line in sports is to win and we couldn't do that today." Dave Mueller doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. During the current season Mueller is batting at a .313 clip with no home runs and 11 RBIs. He has played in 17 games and scored 10 times. View Boxscore |
