Costa Slams 3 Deep for Oakland Tuesday, July 22nd , 2014 Oakland left fielder Rafael Costa blasted three homers today at Oakland Ball Park in the 9-1 Acorns victory over the Homer Yetis. For the game, Rafael Costa scored 3 times and knocked in 4 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Costa when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-4, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Costa told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Rafael Costa hit a two-run home run off Lee Howard in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Lee Howard in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lee Howard in the 4th and struck out in the 6th. This year Costa has hit at a .242 clip with 90 hits, 16 home runs, 48 RBIs and 54 runs scored. |
