Córdova Blisters Edwards AFB Sunday, April 19th , 2015 It was a sensational day at the plate for José Córdova as he led the charge to a nifty 10-2 win over the Jets. The Salem catcher was pure misery for the Edwards AFB pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Córdova put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Jets, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." José Córdova singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. This year, Córdova is hitting .400 with 1 home run and 6 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .467 clip and scored 3 runs. View Boxscore |
