Whitaker Sparkles in 2-0 Shutout Thursday, April 30th , 2015 Herb Whitaker was in a zone of his own most of the day, shutting out the Monterey Sea Lions on 8 hits. "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled Monterey manager after the 2-0 loss to the Hemet Flindseyes. Whitaker finished with 8 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing. In the postgame press conference, Hemet manager said Whitaker "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off."
