Las Vegas Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair

The Las Vegas Strip got a strong performance from pitcher Pedro Romero, who stymied the Kansas City offense en route to a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The Jacks could never get a bead on the right-handed Romero, who threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. The Strip now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Otto Reed helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Strip.
"We're happy," Romero told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played Monday, October 16th, 2006 in Las Vegas. The scheduled starters for the game are Jaime Román for the Kansas City Jacks and Julián Camacho for the the Las Vegas Strip.
