Redwoods Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Thursday, September 18th , 2014 In what will no doubt go down as a classic BSBL Single A series for both clubs, the Eureka Redwoods prevailed over the Edwards AFB Jets in the Round 1 today. With the ups and downs of the series thrilling fans on both sides, Eureka won the final game by a score of 2-0 and took the series 3-2. "In the end, it's our fans who went home happy, but a series like this is good for all fans and for everyone in baseball," said Eureka starting pitcher Marc Webster, who earned series MVP honors. Webster posted a 0.00 ERA on the series, throwing 10 innings and posting a 1-0 record. The Eureka Redwoods will play against the Folsom Blues in the next round. Folsom won their series against the Hemet Flindseyes 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. View Boxscore |
