Win Makes Rainiers 83-54

The Seattle Rainiers got a stellar performance from pitcher Ernesto Rivera, who handcuffed the Portland offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Sick's Stadium. Rivera went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 13. His record improves to 12-6. Seattle has now won 3 in a row.
In the bottom of the sixth, Cris García delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Seattle shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Rainiers in front, 5-2.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said García. "But I have better dreams after a win."
