Fireballs Stumble, Lose to Jacks
|
The Phoenix Fireballs and Kansas City Jacks riveted fans at Arthur Bryant Ballpark.
A 5-RBI performance from third baseman Pedro Castro, who finished 5th in the PL in doubles with 42 in 2006, led the Kansas City Jacks to a win over the Phoenix Fireballs, 8-1. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Roy. He tossed 104 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits.
Early in the game, Castro had a 3-run home run for Kansas City. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Jacks on top, 3-0.
Kansas City manager Marcus Jelks commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
The win elevated the Jacks to 51-39.
