Eagles Get Past Reno for 2-1 Win
|
Reno got a terrific performance from pitcher David Bright, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dallas Eagles. Dallas won the Burnett Field contest, 2-1. Bright threw 8.0 innings of 1-hit ball for the losing team. Dallas pitcher Ray Gui earned the win, hiking his record to 5-7. Leonard Burton suffered the loss. The Silver Sox, at 45-47, have lost 8 in a row.
António Lara was the walk-off hero for Dallas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Eagles first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Lara said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
