Victors Again, Los Angeles Win Streak at 8
|
The winning streak continued for Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Angels beat the Sacramento Ironhorse, 5-0, at Wrigley Field. Starting pitcher José Fuentes was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Fuentes, now 9-3, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs.
Fernando González, who finished 5th in the CL in stolen bases with 48 in 2013, contributed to the Los Angeles win with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Angels manager David K. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
The 5th-place Angels have won 8 consecutive games.
