Owls Drop 3-1 Decision to Stars
The Hollywood Stars got a magnificent effort from pitcher Tony Soto, who kept San Jose hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Stars win at Gilmore Field. The winning pitcher was Soto, now 8-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 10. The first-place Stars have won 5 in a row.

Hollywood took a 3-1 lead on José Guzmán's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Guzmán hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Jose pitcher Marshall Robinson visibly frustrated.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Soto. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
