In a low-scoring contest, Denver pitcher Chip Bowling was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. Kent Hopkins closed it out for his 27th save. Denver is now 64-37, 6½ games up in the Pioneer League North.
Bowling dominated for Denver, raising his record to 9-4. Las Vegas hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8 innings while striking out 6.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Bowling.
