Though he had a terrific game, Júlio Chávez could not prevent his team, the Dallas Eagles, from absorbing a loss. Denver won the game, 9-6. Chávez went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ernesto Leal snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. Marcos Carranza closed the game out for Denver, earning his 1st save.

Denver right fielder Roberto Rosales contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Grizzlies ahead, 9-6.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Rosales told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."

Dallas now has a record of 3-8.
